About Me

I love three things: genealogy, scrapbooking, and my family. Okay, I love more, but the major point of this blog is to share my genealogy research and how I take that research and turn it into something my children can enjoy. I grew up having photos of my ancestors on the wall of my home. I heard a few stories here and there, but I didn't really 'know' my ancestors. I want my children to know as much about their ancestors as perhaps they know about horses or Star Wars. That's a tall order. But, if I find a way to compile family history in an attractive format for them, they'll know.

I am a graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in business and a minor in journalism. I have been doing family history work since the 90s. It began with a church project involving family history and has continued on and off since then.

Power Scrapbooking available at Amazon.com and Smashwords.com
I have been scrapbooking for nearly 20 years. In the most recent years, I have developed a scrapbooking system that has given me more time to do family history research and create family history albums.  You can learn more about my Power Scrapbooking system through a book I wrote entitled Power Scrapbooking - Get Caught Up, No Matter Your Scrapbooking Style available through Amazon.

If that's not enough, I finished my second "How To" book entitled Create a Family History Scrapbook Digitally in 12 Simple Steps. This book is also availble at Amazon. The purpose of this book is to show the steps to creating a heritage scrapbook. The focus is on creating a small project, so you will get it done. You use the most accurate genealogical information you have right now, knowing you can update later. And you'll know what pages to put in your scrapbook to tell an interwoven story, the heritage of your ancestor.

  1. Devon, I've highlighted this blog in my Follow Friday post today, and will also be mentioning it in a presentation tomorrow to the International Society for Educational Biography: http://abt-unk.blogspot.com/2013/04/follow-friday-favorite-finds-this-week.html. Keep up the good work!

    1. Wow. Thank you so very much. I appreciate your support of my work.

  2. Hi Devon, just discovered your sight yesterday. Your intro sounds like me--genealogy, digital scrapbooking, and my family--I'd probably add photography which I think goes with the other three! I've been wanting to do some books on my family combining my genealogy research and you helped me gain some perspective! Thanks!

    1. Ellen,

Glad you found me. I hope my blog and books can be of assistance to you. Thanks for stopping by.

      Devon Lee
