Warning... Creativity In Action

I know the cardinal rule of blogging is to not show others your blog redesign until you fully like it. Well, I'm playing around with a lot of things right now. I'm not sure what I really want. I love scrapbooking, photographing artifacts, and finding the clues in my family history research. I want a blog to reflect that. SO creativity is important. I don't want something boring. But I don't want something too busy.

Right now, I think I'm going in the right direction but I still don't like the design. I'm of the opinion of playing with it a little and revisiting it. I welcome comments of all kinds while I mess around with the design process. I know the current irritation is the side bar is hard to read. I had also hoped my background photo would be large enough to not be tiled (it wasn't, boo-hoo).

I just wanted to give my faithful followers fair warning that my creativity is in action. Hopefully you won't be too upset with me while I play around!!

  1. I change mine with regularity. If I get bored I will just alter it or change the colors.

    1. Don't have technofear. It's not healthy.

I just like to play around with things. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn't. But, unlike painting my house which I can't change easily without great effort, I want to see what the blog looks like in action with the changes I make. Then I'll be able to decide what really works and what doesn't. Since all of this is a hobby, I don't mind the 'clutter' while I play.

For instance, I love the photo of my daughter reading her grandfather's genealogy scrapbook. It gives me goosebumps to know that she's able to enjoy all the effort I put into this great venture. However, the scrapbooker in me says that the complimentary color scheme of blue and gray is soothing. However, I'm having trouble reading the side links (the black's not working). And again, the scrapbooker in me wants more embellishments to the design. Soo.... I still need to play around with the readability and the 'goodies' to get to the final design (for now). But, I'm enjoying the process of playing.

  3. I was greatly surprised when I saw the new look. Love the photo of Uno at the top. Yes I agree that the black at the side doesn't work, but the rest does. Way to go.

    1. That's for the feedback. I will eventually fix the black on the side. I thought of you specifically when I noticed how dark it is to read. I just need a flash of inspiration to finish off the update.
